3 ways our brand is eco friendly 🌱

Covering fashion's impact on the environment and the options to make the industry more sustainable is way too big and complex an issue to tackle in a single blog post.

l would simply like to share with you the three ways our brand is eco friendly. Needless to say we're not perfect but we're trying 😊

how our brand is eco friendly

Materials:

Espadrille soles are made of natural jute rope with vulcanized rubber at the bottom. By nature these materials are eco friendly and biodegradable. We use natural materials for the top part as much as possible.
Our kilim bags are made of up cycled fabric scraps (you can read more about them in the post about the inspiration behind these bags)

Packaging:

We use the minimum amount of packaging required to deliver your orders intact. This usually involves cardboard boxes and tissue paper. Occasionally we use plastic mailer bags but we're working on replacing these with compostable ones.

On demand production for minimal waste:

This is the most important! nearly 90% of our products are custom made on demand. While this is a practical necessity for most small brands it has an extra environmental benefit as on demand production eliminates material and energy waste.

This is the reason why most of our products are not ready to ship but require 3-5 working days to complete.
This contributes to the viability of our company AND to a smaller carbon footprint.
Don't you think this is worth the wait?l

This sums up our current efforts towards a more sustainable business. If you have any questions or ideas I would love to hear from you.

Furthermore, l would like to add that l believe it's important to take personal action to lower our carbon footprint but we should not stop there.
It's equally important to act collectively within our community to push for systemic and structural change.

Take care 🌱
